Are the gods sending signs?

When statues sweat in India, it's a sign of impending turmoil or natural disaster, but when lightning strikes a statue in the US, it's "a freak act of Mother Nature".

Who knew it was so hard to read the sign-language of the deities?

Hehehehehe.

Too bad it wasn't a statue of Jerry Falwell.

One fantasy of mine: I wish Jerry Falwell died of a lightning bolt on a clear day, after about an hour of agony as a result.

But then, the fundies would say it was just a freak natural lightning, not the punishing kind.

If I were a deity, I'd make my will quite clear.

The idea reminds me of the standard trope that when someone dies, it's obviously because of God's displeasure. If that's the case, the fucker must not like any of us too much.
