Halliburton moving headquaters to Dubai
Halliburton moving CEO from Houston to Dubai (International Herald Tribune story)
It's a move that's not going to make Halliburton very popular in the US, but it makes sense when you take into consideration that Halliburton is focusing on their core business of drilling wells and maintaining fields for oil companies.
They are even getting rid of KBR, their engineering and military-services contractor unit, which still is the Pentagon's largest contractor in Iraq.
Of course, the move might also be trigged by the investigations into Halliburton currently going on. If the CEO lives in Dubai, it's a little hard to arrest him, or summon him to court.
Maybe this will mean that Halliburton will stay out of US politics?
Reuters also writes about the move.
